Printmaking: Inspired by nature
In this lesson, teacher will introduce several types of printmaking, and then focus on monoprinting. In the beginning, teacher will show a few artworks of monoprinting that are printed by real flowers and leaves. Then. teacher will encourage students to go to nature to collect leaves and flowers, which will be used for monoprinting. In the end, students will name their works!

I am Caixin(Ali), I come from China. In my film, I am obsessed with exploring relationship between people, the diversity and complexity of human emotions in social reality. In China, I have my art education studio, which focuses on filmmaking education for high school students, and drama education for PK-8. I believe art is a multi disciplinary subject.
From my perspective, I think the ultimate goal of art education is to cultivate students to think like artists rather than being an artist. Firstly, I am constantly looking for ways that are able to connect art with other subjects, like math, science, history, literature and etc. Secondly, I believe art can help students to establish a more complete self-awareness, find their true inner selves. And also, artmaking is a way to make up for the loss brought about by real life. In my art room, idea and connection is key!
