Community Feast
Lead by Ellie Lawson at the Florida Ruffin Ridley School under Supervising Practitioner Priscilla Kwok
My students created mixed media sculptures and placemats of a food that had a special meaning to them. We talked about what a community is and how we can build community through sharing a meal. At the end of the project we had a "feast" where we shared our projects! My students absolutely loved this project and were really proud of themselves and each other!

Coil Vessels
Seventh and eight grade students created a vessel for their emotions. Students were asked to choose a strong feeling and represent it visually through the design choices of a coil-built vessel. Students had lots of freedom in this project, and we were so excited about how they came out!
The Feelings Wheel
In this project, middle school students created a visual representation of the Feelings Wheel, a tool used to help us identify how we are feeling. Students chose eight emotions to depict using mixed media, four we tend to enjoy and four we tend to avoid!
